Welcome

Welcome to our Missionary Journal! We are Kevin and Angelina, full-time missionaries from the organization The Family International. We hope you enjoy your visit with us!

What we do

We commit all of our time, energy and resources to missionary work. Our main objective is to follow Jesus' commandment to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (The Bible, Mark 16:15). We live in Guatemala, where we engage in a variety of projects: holding regular Bible classes, organizing seminars, camps and retreats, teaching the children at the local orphanages, distributing Christian literature, delivering food supplies to the poor, participating in distribution projects of books for children. How we live

We live together with 8 other like-minded individuals, our friends and co-workers. We share all of our finances, expenses and responsibilities, following the example of the Early Church, where "all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need" (The Bible, Acts 2:45:46).

What we believe

Here are a few interesting highlights: We believe in using the gift of prophecy to communicate with Jesus, and we practice it daily. We believe that we are now living in the Time of the End, and that Jesus will soon return. We believe that, even though we live in the world, we should not be a part of the world or its pursuits. We believe that love should govern our entire lives, and we extend this belief to all our behavior, including personal relationships. Of course there are many other things, like salvation by grace, spiritual warfare, healing, discipleship, etc. which you can read about in "The Family's Statement of Faith." Don't miss it!

How we support ourselves

Since we invest all our time in the projects of our mission, we are left with no time for secular employment. We don't receive a regular salary, but rather trust God for the supply of all our needs. "The Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel" (The Bible, 1Cor. 9:14). God uses people like you to supply for us. Would you like to be the answer to our prayers for support? Click here to find out how!

Our history

We've done missionary work many years (Kevin since 1990 and Angelina her whole life, since her parents are missionaries). Before moving to Guatemala in 2006, we worked in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, the former Yugoslavia and Equatorial Guinea (Central Africa).

I watched an interesting movie last night and I thought I'll write a bit about it since I haven't been posting for a while. The movie is called "Fireproof" (2008, with Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea), and it's a film with a very clear message. Definitely worth watching, especially for those who are married, as it can give us all something to think about. [More...]

It's the beginning of April 2009 already, how time flies. Adrian is now almost 1 1/2 years old and I thought some of you might be interested in where he's at these days. His first "big" word was "Zhaba" which is frog in Polish. He loves saying this word and uses it at every opportunity. His other current favorite words are "Joe" which comes out more like "doe". He loves the boys in our home; Joe and Joni and calls them both Joe. Ha! [More...]

Christmas 2008

Visiting those less fortunate than ourselves is a good reminder of how blessed we are throughout the year and how thankful we can be for the simple things we so often take for granted like having family and good health.  Fundaninos is one of the three orphanages that we've worked with regularly in 2008. It's located in the hills on the outskirts of Guatemala city, a [More...]

A Pause...

angelina | 31/12/2008 11:56 | Category: Thoughts on Life | Comments : 1 | Views: 227

A day of rest, a moments’ peace, from life’s unending race I cease.

A lifetime is all I have to share, may I use each moment to care

To stop and look and to enjoy, the wonders and beauties, my laughing boy

It may soon be gone what’s here today, so take time to enjoy what comes your way.

Early Learning - Part 1

angelina | 25/11/2008 19:48 | Category: Adrian | Views: 241

I've always been fascinated with Early Learning ever since I was 10 years old and was helping out in taking care of babies and toddlers, however since then I haven't had that much time time, or need to get into a well rounded study and application of it. However, now with Adrian having turned the big 1 and beginning his second year of life, I find that it's the perfect [More...]
