Life« Previous New Arrival! - Baby Dominik | angelina | 25/01/2010 10:38 | Views: 375 Dominik was born on the 20th of January weighing 4.55 kg (10 lb), 52 cm in length. It was definitely a quicker and easier delivery than I have previously to which I’m sure I owe the thanks to the many prayers that were sent my way. Contractions started for real around 3am and by 8am we were at the hospital. He was born at 12:44 in the afternoon. I’m recovering really well and am very happy [More...] |
Moving to Italy! | angelina | 22/10/2009 07:09 | Views: 596
Change is in the air, or is more like getting us in the air as we'll be flying to near Pisa, Italy on the 7th of November. It was a big turn in events to pull out of what had become home to us - Guatemala City, but following the Lord is what's gotten us this far in our lives for Him, so when He said it was time for change we went with it. As difficult as [More...] |
Adrian - Part 1 (9-11 months) | angelina | 07/10/2008 17:37 | Comments : 2 | Views: 558 Adrian is growing so fast that I figured a couple months back that I should start keeping track of his growth and progress as these little things get easily forgotten months or years from now. For those of you who are interested, I hope you'll enjoy this little bit of insight into his life. [More...] |
Thoughts and feelings back home in Guatemala | angelina | 07/10/2008 11:03 | Comments : 1 | Views: 602
We're back safe and sound home again. I can't quite describe how good it felt to be back home in Guatemala. Even though the scent of our room was of mold (everything gets damp during the rainy season) and we realized how old our house is (we're still desperately searching for a new house), home is home and living once again with 15 other people was like Heaven - at least for the [More...] |
Poland | angelina | 08/08/2008 04:43 | Comments : 2 | Views: 625 Hello from Poland! Thanks for all the prayers that were sent our way during the trip. Adrian behaved very well so it made the trip go by pretty quick.
We were surprised at how hot it was here, much more so than in Guatemala, but that's due to a small heat wave that's been going through the country. As I write this we're enjoying some cooler weather after a short morning rain shower. [More...] |

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to each of you who sent us contributions toward our trip as well as prayers for the Lord's supply. The Lord did it, and we'll be flying out on the 26th of July en-route for Berlin with a stop over in Madrid. In Berlin, Kevin's brother will come to pick us up so it will be a long trip, but one we're looking forward to.
At the moment Kevin is [More...] |
Happy Birthday Aa | angelina | 09/07/2008 08:11 | Comments : 1 | Views: 616 In the past when thinking of having children I always thought I'd want a boy first as I thought any girl living life without an older brother would be missing out.
Although I've heard it's common to have sibling rivalry between brothers and sisters, I don't remember much of anything that would fall into that category with Aaron. [More...] |
Motherhood - 1 | angelina | 06/07/2008 21:18 | Views: 534 Since Adrian turned 6 months old life has taken on a new pace altogether. He's getting more and more personality which makes him so fun to be with, but he also takes a lot more time and attention. Recently the Lord showed me that I should be putting more time into teaching him and pouring into him. Early Learning is something I was deterimined to [More...] |

It's a Boy! | angelina | 23/10/2007 11:32 | Comments : 19 | Views: 939 It all started at 3:30 am the 19th of October. I awoke to contractions that felt like the Braxton Hicks one’s I’d been having the day before but they were a bit more uncomfortable – the pain during them was what helped me realize they could be the real thing. However, considering that it could very well be false labor I tried to go back to bed, but as they got a little worse I woke up Kevin an hour after they started. [More...] |
Expecting! - Part 3angelina | 08/10/2007 08:57 | Views: 550 Two weeks to go till my due date and I have a little sneaky feeling that the tiny guy is going to be fashionably late. I feel great, and just went personal witnessing for two hours on the beautiful walking street of "Las Americas" with Kevin yesterday. I'll talk about that in a different article though. It's so cool to be getting to know more of the young people here in Guatemala and being able to lead them to the Lord. [More...] |
Expecting! - Part 2 | angelina | 17/09/2007 18:59 | Comments : 1 | Views: 598 Eight months along with a little boy on the way it seems... After traveling over the past two months, coming home meant having another visit with our doctor, Vanessa. She took my blood pressure, weighed me and then took out her little heart monitor to hear the babies heart beat. The heart monitor is shaped like an old plastic tape recorder with this wire connected to a little piece that she puts on my tummy. I almost hyperventilated when it took a while to hear the heart beat strong and clear, and then when we sort of could, it sounded irregular! After about a minute she stopped and said "Don't worry nothing's wrong with the heart beat, it's just that the monitor is running out of battery power." Thank God! [More...] |
A Month in Chihuahua, Mexico | angelina | 08/09/2007 16:52 | Comments : 1 | Views: 526
Kevin,
Jasmine and I traveled up to Mexico City enroute
to the Mexican state of Chihuahua
on the 13th of July. After a pleasant flight and then a strenuous 28
hour bus ride in a bus that had heating instead of air-conditioning (in the
middle of the Mexican summer) we made it safely to the camp site where 80 of us
would live and get to know each other over the next 32 days.
The [More...] |
Trip to Costa Rica, Part 2angelina | 30/07/2007 21:12 | Views: 435
The 25 hour bus ride took us down through El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and then to our final destination of Costa Rica. In this part of the world the word "rica" is used for everything from "delicious" to "wonderful" so we discovered why this country is named quite literally "wonderful coast".
For the majority of our weeks' visit we stayed [More...] |
Trip to Costa Ricaangelina | 24/06/2007 10:49 | Comments : 2 | Views: 506
Kevin and I will be taking the two day bus ride to Costa Rica beginning tomorrow, Monday the 25th. The Lord was so sweet to supply some funds specifically to take some time off after our wedding, sort of like a honeymoon. Many heartfelt thanks to my mom and dad, uncle and aunt; Jay and Sylvie and Gram for your generous gifts towards it.
This will be our first time traveling in Central [More...] |
Goodbye Julie, Christian and Willy | angelina | 16/06/2007 22:04 | Views: 542 People leaving has always been a sad part of life. Moving around as much as I have one might think you get used to loosing people you grow close to, but it never really works that way. Of course you never really loose anyone as you know you'll be able to stay in touch, perhaps visit each other and definitely see each other again in Heaven, but still there's a certain sadness that comes with people moving on. A "New Disciple"!angelina | 04/06/2007 22:05 | Views: 455 Recently a young guy here in Guatemala, his name is Jonny, decided to drop everything that he had in society; a job in a good family business, and a life which afforded him basically anything money could buy to follow Jesus and live and work alongside us in our small home. "How to Know when you're a Missionary Kid"angelina | 28/05/2007 11:46 | Comments : 1 | Views: 424
I've read the article "How to know when you're a Missionary kid" several times, but this morning, I picked out a few of my favorites:
You can't answer the question, "Where are you from?"
You flew before you could walk.
The U.S. is a foreign country.
Your life story uses the phrase "Then we went to..." five times.
You think in grams, [More...] |
