At layover in Madrid after a night long plane ride

Hello from Poland! Thanks for all the prayers that were sent our way during the trip. Adrian behaved very well so it made the trip go by pretty quick.

We were surprised at how hot it was here, much more so than in Guatemala, but that's due to a small heat wave that's been going through the country. As I write this we're enjoying some cooler weather after a short morning rain shower.

Things have kept quite busy in the small apartment that we're staying at here. Kevin's been taking the bus to town nearly every day to run around between the offices getting the variety of papers in order to get Adrian's Polish passport. We thought it would be quicker, but little did we know of the many papers one needs to apply for for citizenship for a new baby here. Thanks to the Lord and the kind people in the offices who've been willing to speed up processes for us, it looks like we may have Adrian's passport in hand before we go back home.

Adrian seems to miss everyone at home, especially the kids. When I take him out for walks he goes up to any kids he can find and smiles and gabs in his outgoing fashion, holding my hand as he toddles nearby to them making new friends. When out on the buses or trams he plays peek-a-boo with the person sitting behind us (if they're willing to play along) and sends smiles or stares to everyone who will look his way.

Being silly on a windy day

He learned to point a few weeks ago and can now point to things and people that he knows. There's a fish tank in Kevin's mom's apartment which he loves to look at. He can even make copy the "sound" fish make and loves to point to where they are. Another of his new fascinations is with dogs. His first encounter in Guatemala with some guard dogs barking sharply in our direction sent him crying loudly all the while clinging to me with all his might. However, his secondary encounters have been far more amicable and now he'll notice dogs coming toward us from far away. We go for long walks every day and the parks are where everyone take their dogs for a walk so he's kept quite entertained seeing the great variety, shapes and sizes dogs come in. Their masters are usually happy to stop for a moment so Adrian can walk up to it or stare intently at it and he's made many new friends this way.

Visiting with Babcha (Grandma in Polish) is fun and he's quickly become very friendly to her and has charmed her with his sweet ways. He's not an complete angel as he can sometimes let on to be as he's developed a grunt and I'm not sure what to call it that surfaces when: Mommy goes shopping for a bit too long for comfort, daddy stands in a long line at the post office or other office, or mommy takes away a super fun toy because it's dangerous to play with or for the first few seconds that he's placed in his highchair or stroller.

He's learned to open cupboard doors and pull out drawers (and boy does Babcha have some fun stuff to pull out of cupboards and drawers). He's started to lift his hands when mommy says "Hallelujah" and I'm still working on his saying "Please" by clapping his hands. Oh, he can also give a "kiss", he's just working on the "mua" sound.

I am SO GLAD to hear that the Lord is helping you out, and that He placed good people in your way! I will continue to hope and pray that everything will work out well for you before your return to Guatemala.
It's been up to 98 degrees Fahrenheit in Norway this summer - with no wind as well...Thankfully that's about to change now.
Adrian sounds like a lovely little boy, a true blessing to you both!!
