New Arrival! - Baby Dominik
 | angelina | 25/01/2010 11:38 | Category: Life | Views: 139 Dominik was born on the 20th of January weighing 4.55 kg (10 lb), 52 cm in length. It was definitely a quicker and easier delivery than I have previously to which I’m sure I owe the thanks to the many prayers that were sent my way. Contractions started for real around 3am and by 8am we were at the hospital. He was born at 12:44 in the afternoon. I’m recovering really well and am very happy [More...] |

Change is in the air, or is more like getting us in the air as we'll be flying to near Pisa, Italy on the 7th of November. It was a big turn in events to pull out of what had become home to us - Guatemala City, but following the Lord is what's gotten us this far in our lives for Him, so when He said it was time for change we went with it. As difficult as [More...] |

Fireproof - how to improve your marriage
 | kevin | 16/04/2009 01:22 | Category: Thoughts on Life | Comments : 2 | Views: 615 I watched an interesting movie last night and I thought I'll write a bit about it since I haven't been posting for a while. The movie is called "Fireproof" (2008, with Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea), and it's a film with a very clear message. Definitely worth watching, especially for those who are married, as it can give us all something to think about. [More...] |
Adrian - Part 2 (17 months)
 | angelina | 31/03/2009 22:41 | Category: Adrian | Views: 423 It's the beginning of April 2009 already, how time flies. Adrian is now almost 1 1/2 years old and I thought some of you might be interested in where he's at these days.
His first "big" word was "Zhaba" which is frog in Polish. He loves saying this word and uses it at every opportunity. His other current favorite words are "Joe" which comes out more like "doe". He loves the boys in our home; Joe and Joni and calls them both Joe. Ha! [More...] |
Christmas 2008

Visiting those less fortunate than ourselves is a good reminder of how blessed we are throughout the year and how thankful we can be for the simple things we so often take for granted like having family and good health.
Fundaninos is one of the three orphanages that we've worked with regularly in 2008. It's located in the hills on the outskirts of Guatemala city, a [More...] |
A Pause...

A day of rest, a moments’ peace, from life’s unending race I
cease.
A lifetime is all I have to share, may I use each moment to
care
To stop and look and to enjoy, the wonders and beauties, my
laughing boy
It may soon be gone what’s here today, so take time to enjoy
what comes your way.
Early Learning - Part 1
 | angelina | 25/11/2008 19:48 | Category: Adrian | Views: 391
I've always been fascinated with Early Learning ever since I was 10
years old and was helping out in taking care of babies and toddlers,
however since then I haven't had that much time time, or need to get
into a well rounded study and application of it.
However, now with Adrian having turned the big 1 and beginning his
second year of life, I find that it's the perfect [More...] |
Adrian - Part 1 (9-11 months)
 | angelina | 07/10/2008 18:37 | Category: Life | Comments : 2 | Views: 483 Adrian is growing so fast that I figured a couple months back that I should start keeping track of his growth and progress as these little things get easily forgotten months or years from now. For those of you who are interested, I hope you'll enjoy this little bit of insight into his life. [More...] |
Thoughts and feelings back home in Guatemala
 | angelina | 07/10/2008 12:03 | Category: Life | Comments : 1 | Views: 502
We're back safe and sound home again. I can't quite describe how good it felt to be back home in Guatemala. Even though the scent of our room was of mold (everything gets damp during the rainy season) and we realized how old our house is (we're still desperately searching for a new house), home is home and living once again with 15 other people was like Heaven - at least for the [More...] |
Poland
 | angelina | 08/08/2008 05:43 | Category: Life | Comments : 2 | Views: 523 Hello from Poland! Thanks for all the prayers that were sent our way during the trip. Adrian behaved very well so it made the trip go by pretty quick.
We were surprised at how hot it was here, much more so than in Guatemala, but that's due to a small heat wave that's been going through the country. As I write this we're enjoying some cooler weather after a short morning rain shower. [More...] |

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to each of you who sent us contributions toward our trip as well as prayers for the Lord's supply. The Lord did it, and we'll be flying out on the 26th of July en-route for Berlin with a stop over in Madrid. In Berlin, Kevin's brother will come to pick us up so it will be a long trip, but one we're looking forward to.
At the moment Kevin is [More...] |
Happy Birthday Aa
 | angelina | 09/07/2008 09:11 | Category: Life | Comments : 1 | Views: 528 In the past when thinking of having children I always thought I'd want a boy first as I thought any girl living life without an older brother would be missing out.
Although I've heard it's common to have sibling rivalry between brothers and sisters, I don't remember much of anything that would fall into that category with Aaron. [More...] |
Motherhood - 1
 | angelina | 06/07/2008 22:18 | Category: Life | Views: 437 Since Adrian turned 6 months old life has taken on a new pace altogether. He's getting more and more personality which makes him so fun to be with, but he also takes a lot more time and attention. Recently the Lord showed me that I should be putting more time into teaching him and pouring into him. Early Learning is something I was deterimined to [More...] |

I read this article this morning in this month's Activated magazine. Somehow I'm drawn to all articles on the topic of how to reduce worry and stress. It's a continual struggle to slow down and enjoy the simple things of life in this fast paced world with so much to think about and do. I hope it helps you as it did me.

Panajachel
 | angelina | 02/02/2008 22:08 | Category: Guatemala | Views: 615
My parents, who have been visiting us, invited me to go with them to Panajachel - a quaint little tourist town located on the lake Attitlan which is 1500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by three volcanoes. Our trip was only three days, but was so relaxing it truly was a breath of fresh air and gave me renewed inspiration. We started the 4 hour journey at 9:00 after a small set-back as [More...] |
Christmas 2007 - the Real Meaning?
angelina | 30/12/2007 19:42 | Category: Thoughts on Life | Views: 558
Christmas has come and gone so quickly that I’m only now
finding time to write something up. As usual, Christmas is an extra busy time
for us as it’s an opportune time to reach out to others, giving a helping hand
to the needy and reminding people of the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus coming
to earth out of love for us. I watched the movie “Christmas on 24th Street”
the other [More...] |
